NET CONTROLS NEEDED FOR DISTRICT ARES and FUTURE SOUTHEAST GEORGIA SKYWARNS PROGRAM:

We got into Amateur Radio for Emergency Communications. Here we are less than 45 days from Hurricane Season again. Folks I assure you it will be on us before you know it.  With that being said there is a net that needs some help with Net Controls and participation. That is the Southeast Georgia. District ARES Net on 146.970 every Thursday Night at 7 p.m. Anyone that can help out please get in contact with Dan Thornton W4WDT our District Emergency Coordinator.

Graham Williamson KG4PNF DEC for NWS Jacksonville has met with the NWS in Jacksonville, FL and has been working on a Skywarn net that will be held on the Link System prior to during and after severe weather.

With the linking system growing, this will also give us direct communications with the National Weather Service in Jacksonville and Charleston, S.C. We have taken the training classes and now it is time to show them that we are willing and able to call a net, maintain good communications skills and get the proper information to them so that they can alert others in the path of severe weather.

Folks the Southeast is growing fast with new technology and modes of operation in various counties. We need to become familiar with the program and learn to use the multiple methods of communications before and after a storm hits.
